One in a series of videos exploring attitudes of prisoners, community members and administrators toward Unit 18 of the Wise County Correctional Facility. In this tape, food supervisor H. G. Honaker talks about his twenty years as a prison guard. Topics include changes in prison life over time, how he became a prison guard, his thoughts about vocational education for prisoners, community relations and disciplinary tactics. Tape also includes interview with institutional rehabilitation counselor Roy Baker who discusses his background, how he became a counselor and his attitude toward rehabilitation services for prisoners. This program was videotaped and broadcast on cable television as part of the Mountain Community Television initiative to provide locally produced public access television to southwestern Virginia.
